Hyderabad: The Telangana IT department has sanctioned three new mobile apps (e-seva, mobile mee seva and promotion of policies), as part of its ongoing efforts to take governance from computers to mobiles.
There are 10 apps already developed by the IT department that are being used by urban and rural citizens apart from a few being used by various government departments and agencies.
The IT department, over the last two years, has developed LRMS (Land Regularisation Management System) Rate Calculator (Android app), which is useful for payment calculations and installment details.
The LRMS Photo app (Android) is useful for capturing geo-tagged photographs of structures along with the beneficiary for recommended applications to regularise unobjectionable government land and surplus land under Urban Land Ceiling.
The LRMS Map app is useful to view the locations of regularised unobjectionable government lands and surplus lands under the Urban Land Ceiling on Google Maps based on GPS coordinates captured using the photo application.
The “Aadhar seeding with pattadar passbook details” app seeds pattadar details with the Aadhar number. e-Ajmaish is another mobile-based app that has been developed to capture field-level information pertaining to crops and providing inputs using application.
The information is transmitted to a central server through GPRS in real time. The data available at the central server is used for analysis. The app provides crop particulars in real time through mobile phones and allows monitoring of land details.
The Sarkari Bhoomi app shows details of vacant government lands on Google maps by capturing GPS coordinates.
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) app is a tablet-based app that shows cash counters, filter beds, section offices, division office locations on Google Maps. Root navigation from current location to the desired location is possible.
“These apps are currently available for citizens while three more apps have been sanctioned. The mobile apps have been developed over the last three years and are part of the mobile governance measures being taken up,” said A.S. Ramesh, director (Communications) TS IT department.
