Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao gives a Bonanza to Film studios
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said that his government would allow bigwigs of the Telugu film industry, who own film studios in expensive areas of Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills, to use their land for commercial purposes.
These lands are worth hundreds of crores of rupees. The CM made this announcement at the audio release function of the Tollywood film Basthi, held at Shilpakala Vedika late on Sunday. Actor Jayasudha’s younger son, Shreyan, is making his debut with the film.
This is the first Tollywood audio function attended by Mr Rao after he assumed charge. “These lands to Padmalaya and Annapurna were allotted a few decades ago, which were then considered to be the city outskirts. Now they are located in the midst of the city due to expansion of the city,” the CM said. Mr Rao added that the government will allow studio owners to use these lands for commercial purposes.
