Centre for fast mine auction; Narendra Singh Tomar meets KCR and Chandrababu Naidu
Hyderabad: The Centre on Monday asked the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments to expedite the auction of mines and the setting up of the District Mineral Foundation (DMF). Union minister for steel and mines, Narendra Singh Tomar met Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N. Chandrababu Naidu separately here on Monday.
Among the issues discussed with both the CMs are the setting up integrated steel plants in both the states. “The meetings deliberated over proposed investments in steel and mines and the need to expedite the auction of mines and the setting up of a DMF in these states,” Mr Tomar said. He assured help for detailed exploration of mines by GSI and MECL, in both the states.
Chief Minister Naidu requested for inclusion of APMDC in the list of exploration agencies, to which Mr Tomar agreed. In his meeting with TS CM, Mr Tomar proposed that Geological Survey of India and Mineral Exploration Corporation Ltd can assist the state in assessing its mineral resources for revenue generation.
