Be subtle this Ramzan

Designers say being fashionably restrained is the way to go for Iftaar parties this year
Chances are that during the month of Ramzan, you will be invited to a few Iftaar parties. While you might worry about what to wear to these parties, the most important thing to remember is not to go over the top. Here are a few pointers on Iftaar fashion:
“Long skirts worn with crop tops can make for an Indo-Western look. Tops with sanchi sleeves are also in this season. Full-length anarkalis made of raw silk is a safer option. A beautiful dupatta will uplift the look,” says designer Ridhhi Mehra. Subtlety is the key in such parties and the look is all about toned-down glamour.
Designer Anand Kabra suggests slim kurtis with white pants. “The idea is to give the look a Nizami touch. It has to be simple yet trend-driven,” he says.
It is also important to choose your accessories wisely. “Concentrate on one thing to avoid going over the top,” says Anand. Big cuffs and earrings or just a Columbian emerald pendant is what designer Anushree Reddy swears by. “The look should be chic and not like you are trying too hard,” she says.
And when it comes to shoes, Anand feels that one can wear flats and jootis to complete the convenient look.
