Srikanth and Raai Laxmi fight 50 ghosts
Horror is the word that sells in Tamil cinema of late. Sowcarpettai is the latest to join the bandwagon attracting a lot of attention even before its release. Also, this film directed by Vadivudayan has been offered a huge price for its Hindi dubbing rights.
The movie being made in Tamil and Telugu is one of Srikanth’s big budget films and is shaping up well, according to a source. Srikanth plays a dual role in Sowcarpettai and he essays Sakthivel, a normal person and Vetrivel, an aghori who lives in the burial ground, who is expert in black magic. “I had to literally slog, as playing an aghori was taxing. I watched several videos and took references from my director to pull off the role,” Srikanth says.
The climax of the movie featuring Srikanth and Raai Laxmi was recently shot at one of the cemeteries in the city. The highlight of the scene was the duo’s high-octane stunt with 50 odd ghosts and fight master Kanal Kannan at the helm. According to the director, a huge crowd had gathered from nearby areas, making it tough to control proceedings.
