Madras High Court notice to Rajinikanth, daughter’s dad-in-law

The further hearing of the case will be held after two weeks
Chennai: The Madras high court has ordered notice to superstar Rajinikanth and his daughter’s father-in-law Kasthooriraja on an application filed by a film financier, which sought a direction to the former to take action against the latter for allegedly misusing his name to avail loan from him.
The application arising out of a suit filed by S. Mukanchand Bothra came up for hearing before Justice K. Ravichandra Babbu. The further hearing of the case will be held after two weeks.
According to Bothra, Kasthooriraja had on January 2, 2012, borrowed Rs 40 lakh from him for his business and personal expenses on the promise of repaying the same with interest within six months. Thereafter in July 2012, he had borrowed another Rs 25 lakh on the promise of repaying the entire amount either by him or by his son’s father-in-law Rajinikanth. He also executed pronote and issued two cheques. But when the cheques were presented for payment, they were returned stating ‘insufficient funds’. Thereafter, Bothra came to know that Rajinikanth had not permitted Kasthooriraja to use his name for such transaction. This prompted him to file this suit.
