Massive turnout at Yoga Day celebration
Anantapur: Deputy Chief Minister K.E. Krishna Murthy revealed that his secret of health even at an old age is thanks to regular practice of yoga. “I have neither of the common complaints of today, diabetes and hypertension only because of yoga,” he said. He was the chief guest at a programme in Kurnool to commemorate the International Yoga Day.
Speaking at mammoth gathering of students and elders, the deputy chief minister called on them to make yoga practice a part of their life. Referring to the efforts of our Prime Minister, the Inter-national Yoga Day had gained attention from all sections across the globe. The world has recognised our ancient health system that keeps us in good health and chronic ailments at bay, he said.
In Anantapur, IT minister Palle Raghunath Reddy and civil supplies minister Paritala Sunitha participated in a programme on Intern-ational Yoga Day at the ind-oor stadium at Ashok Nagar. Both ministers were accompanied by district officials and other representatives on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, Mr Raghunath Reddy said mental tension have an adverse impact on health of all sections in the society. “Each one of us is a victim. Practising yoga will help to relax the mind and body.” Civil supplies minister Paritala Sunitha recalled a recent programme for ministers, IAS and IPS officers by Jaggi Vasudev that was a great experience. She further directed the An-antapur collector to conduct such programmes at least on-ce in a month. Vivekananga yoga Kendra organised a mass yoga programme at police parade grounds.
A large number of people including police personnel participated on the occasion. Kendra incharge and telecom SDE M.Rajasekhar Reddy said in Kadapa, WHIP Mallikarjuna Reddy took part at Rajampeta. All mandal head quarters witnessed mass-yoga practice to mark International Yoga Day.
