The director wants to avoid clashing at the box office with Shah Rukh Khan's 'Dilwale'

Mumbai: While Rohit Shetty has already announced the release date of his film ‘Dilwale’, fans have been eagerly waiting for director Sanjay Leela Bhansali to announce the release of his magnum opus ‘Bajirao Mastani’.
Earlier the film was slated to get a December release, but due to a couple of snags it was postponed. Bhansali was racing against time to get the film ready in time for a December release, which would’ve allowed history to repeat itself. (In 2007 SLB’s ‘Saawariya’ clashed with the release of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Om Shanti Om’.
If rumours are to be believed, the director now plans on releasing the film in 2016, to avoid clashing at the box office. If things go as planned the film may just be headed for a solo release in 2016.
