Chennai: Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa inaugurated through video-conferencing 56,830 green houses with solar power and buildings constructed by the rural development department at a total cost of Rs 1,200 crore.
An official release said the Chief Minister also inaugurated 35 rural development department administrative offices at a cost of Rs 62 crore in Kancheepuram, Ariyalur, Kanyakumari, Nagapattinam and Tiruchi districts.
She also declared open new buildings, bridges, community centres and drinking water facilities. As many 193 grama seva centres at a cost of Rs 24 crore in Tiruvallur, Tirunelveli, Tiruvannamalai and Tuticorin districts were also inaugurated by Jayalalithaa.
