Two Chennai girls love to create yoga records
Chennai: On the eve of World Yoga Day and to compete with senior yogis, two Chennai based school girls on Saturday showcased their skills by performing yoga on tomatoes and eggs spread on a surface. The event by the fourth standard school students raised many eyebrows. The programme that started with Padmasana lasted half an hour and other asanas including Anjaneya Asana and Upanishta Gonasanam were showcased over the fragile eatables.
“B. Sathyaprabha and R.Yeshwanthi, both eight years old, have been training hard for a new yoga world record on eggs. For the past two years the duo had broken countless eggs and tomatoes. Soon they will succeed in their attempt,” said yoga trainer Suresh Kumar, founder, Swami Vivekananda Yoga and Skating Association.
Sathyabrabha, a north Chennai government school student based in Mint, had already in July 2014 earned a name in the Indian books of records by performing 369 ‘Asanas’ in a span of 15 minutes, Kumar noted. “For some, yoga is a breathing exercise; but we practise it as a sport enjoying the asanas. We are confident of breaking more records through yoga”, said the girls.
