Cash-for-vote scam: Telugu Desam defends Andhra Pradesh police action
Erraballi Dayakara said it was Rao who publicly threatened to bury the media 10 km deep
Hyderabad: Justifying the action of the AP Police in issuing notices to T News, Telangana TD Legislature Party leader Erraballi Dayakara Rao demanded that the news channel owned by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao should provide their ‘source of information’ on the audio tapes it aired.
Addressing a news conference here on Saturday, the TDLP leader said T News, which is headquartered in Telangana Bhavan, the headquarters of TRS party, has no professional values and it continuously telecast bulletins that are aimed to divide the Telugu people by whipping up hatred and emotions all these years. He said T News was the first that aired the audio tapes of the alleged conversation between N. Chandrababu Naidu and nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson and as per law it is required to disclose the source of the content.
He said serving notice to T News should not be seen as an act to suppress the freedom of the media as is being alleged by the channel management when at the behest of Mr Rao the MSOs had resorted to black out TV 9 and ABN Andhra Jyothi last year, the T News supported the move. He said it was Mr Rao who publicly threatened to bury the media 10 km deep.
