Hyderabad: Car falls in pit, 10 injured

Three persons suffered fractures on their legs
Hyderabad: Ten members of a family suffered severe injuries when the brakes of the vehicle, they were travelling by failed and it fell into a 15-foot pit near the Birla Mandir on Friday night. The mishap occurred when the victims were returning after having a darshan at the temple. Three persons suffered fractures on their legs, while others are undergoing treatment at Mediciti Hospital.
The victims include six women, two men and two children. Kishore Kumar Singhania, a native of Bihar, and his relatives were in Hyderabad for a short tour on Friday. They were staying at Hotel Meridian Residency and had hired a Qualis from Om Sai Travels, Secunderabad. They toured the city on Friday and went to the Birla temple in the evening.
“The road out of the Birla temple is very steep. The driver of the Qualis lost control and rammed the vehicle into the wall of the temple. The vehicle then fell into a 15 feet deep pit between the temple and a house,” said Prem Kumar, sub-inspector, Saifabad. Police rescued the victims and shifted them to the hospital on Friday, while the damaged vehicle was recovered on Saturday. The police is investigating the case.
