Rana Daggubati’s new hobby
When Rana Daggubati isn’t shooting, he is busy recycling waste products
Hyderabad: Rana Duggabati claims he has no time for dating as shooting for Baahubali took more than 300 days. Try probing about his love life and he snaps, “Why do you guys want to talk about my personal life? Concentrate on my profession. Anyway, being busy with Baahubali, I had no time for dating or keeping up with my relationships.”
But the actor made time for a new passion — recycling waste products. “I’ve a small workshop and I recycle glass, wood and furniture in my spare time. I am enjoying this hobby, as I create a lot of new things out of waste and am gifting them to friends,” quips Rana.
Left Vikram Phadnis’ NIA because Bipasha left?
“No, I had given the film fixed dates, but the shoot didn’t start. In the meantime, I had signed Baahubali. No sooner did Vikram see me with the pounds put on, he said, ‘How can we shoot the film in this look of yours, which doesn’t suit my character...’ So, I opted out of the film.” Feigning ignorance about Bipasha opting out of the film, Rana says, “Since I am not on board anymore, I am not aware of it.”
NO MORE BOLLYWOOD OFFERS?
“I haven’t got time to sign any film as I have been busy shooting for Baahubali for the last three years. I will start shooting for Baahubali 2 next month, so I will be busy for another year. I don’t want to cause trouble for directors or producers by signing their films.”
PREPARING FOR BAAHUBALI
“I knew that I would never get to play a villain of this sort in my life time, hence I accepted it,” he said, adding, “The only references were the Ramayan and Mahabharata. I was given a 20-page description of my character. For the first five months, Prabhas and I trained with bodybuilders in Hyderabad. Then Peter Haines, our action coordinator, had five Vietnamese trainers to train us in various martial arts.”
