SpiceJet celebrates International Yoga Day at 35000 feet

Handouts and CDs on yoga were also distributed to the passengers by the airline

New Delhi: International Yoga Day celebrations reached a new high after SpiceJet crew struck yogic postures during a flight on Sunday. Handouts and CDs on yoga were also distributed to the passengers by the airline.

SpiceJet has teamed up with Isha Foundation to conduct mid-air yoga sessions on some of its Boeing flights. The passengers onboard were encouraged to participate in the yoga exercises while seated. Similar sessions were conducted in mid-air on Friday during SpiceJet's New Delhi-Guwahati flight.

The International Yoga Day is being celebrated today across the country with great fervour. The United Nations declared June 21 as International Day of Yoga after adopting a measure proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Prime Minister Modi had in his speech at the UN General Assembly in September last year called for recognition of such a day.
