Man murdered for stealing mangoes in Malhar mandal
KARIMNAGAR: In a gruesome incident a man was beaten to death on Wednesday night for allegedly stealing mangoes and for not paying the fine imposed on him for that.
The mangoes were stolen from a farm in Peddatndla village in Malhar mandal. The family of the victim staged a dharna in front of the house of the killer seeking compensation.
Manthani inspector A. Prabhakar said the deceased was identified as Nakka Ramesh, 26, a poultry farm worker. The alleged killer, Azmira Ravi, belongs to Lambada Tanda, a hamlet of Peddatundla.Ramesh died as he suffered internal injuries after being assaulted by Ravi for failing to pay the fine of Rs 1,000 imposed for stealing mangoes from his field a month back.
He breathed his last vomiting blood at his residence. He had agreed to pay the fine after being caught while stealing mangoes. But, he did not stand by his word.
So, Ravi decided to kill Ramesh, police said. Ramesh is survived by his wife and two daughters aged below five. Based on a complaint from Ramesh’s wife, a murder case was registered against Ravi.
A manhunt was launched to nabRani as he went absconding after the incident. The postmortem of the murdered man was conducted at the Manthani government hospital.
