Kerala Technological University to impart online training to faculty

The administration and monitoring will be done through an online portal

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Technological University has envisaged a three-day training programme to its entire faculty every year. It will be imparted on face-to-face mode as well as Webinars, that is seminar conducted through online.

The face-to-face programmes are mainly planned during the semester breaks, KTU Pro- Vice-Chancellor M. Abdul Rahman told Deccan Chronicle.

The KTU has identified CET School of Management as its arm to organise and conduct the programmes. The administration and monitoring will be done through an online portal.

The faculty will be able to choose the training. Institutes will also be evaluated based on the number of KTU-trained faculty.

A three-day workshop on the various aspects of content and delivery of the course ‘Introduction to Sustainable Engineering’ will be held from Thursday to Sunday at the Diamond Jubilee Auditorium at the College of Engineering, Trivandrum (CET). The training will be handled by eminent professors from IIT.

Sustainable engineering involved the use of a resource in a way that does not harm the environment or deplete the materials for future generations. It required an interdisciplinary approach in all aspects of engineering, Mr Rahman said.
