All 70 mosques in the city have prepared for the Muslim holy month of Ramzan

Guntur: All the mosques in Guntur have prepared to welcome Ramzan which started from June 18 night. There are 70 mosques in the city which are used by the Muslim community .The mosques have been painted and decorated for the Ramzan special prayers.
The Muslim community performs Taravih prayers every night during which Quran verses would be recited. The major mosques Jamia, Markaz, Mohammadia and Bilal in Old Guntur, Lalapeta, Pattabhipuram and Brodipeta and other mosques in rest of the city started Taravih Namaz on Thursday night.
Telugu Desam leaders have asked officials to ensure continuous supply of power during the Ramzan for the smooth performance of prayers in the mosques. Guntur joint collector 2, M. Venkateswara Rao held a meeting with elders of Muslim community and assured the supply of water and power without fail. He further said that drinking water would be supplied for free of cost to all mosques during Ramzan month.
