Bengaluru man held again for duping job aspirants
BENGALURU: A 34-year-old man, who was arrested by CCB sleuths earlier for cheating people of their money by promising jobs in software companies, was arrested again here on Wednesday for the same crime.
The accused has been identified as Mohammed Shakeel, 34, a native of Cantonment in Ballari. According to the police, Shakeel was earlier arrested after a raid on Exalt Consulting Placement Services Private Limited at N J Chambers opposite Ramada Hotel in Shivajinagar in October last. The raid was conducted based on a tip off that the accused allegedly cheated unemployed youth of their money by promising jobs in software and other companies. During the raid, Shakeel and his associate, James, were arrested.
“Shakeel was released on bail after sometime. On a tip off, we raided his office again on Wednesday and arrested him for the same crime. Preliminary investigations revealed that he had enrolled 825 job aspirants from January and collected Rs 37.12 lakh from them.” the police said.
The police have recovered laptops and other documents from the accused. A manhunt has been launched for Shabeer Ahmed, owner of the firm. A case has been registered in Shivajinagar police station.
