Bengaluru: Three arrested for kidnapping minor, attempt to rape
Bengaluru: Three people were arrested by the Kudur police of Magadi taluk in Ramanagar district for allegedly kidnapping a 15-year-old girl and attempting to rape her. The accused have been identified as Girish, 22, a driver, Kemparaju, 23, and Gangaraju, 25, all natives of Tumkauru. According to the police the victim, also a native of Tumakuru was in love with Girish.
After her parents came to know about this they shifted her to her grandmother’s house in Lakkenahalli near Kudur, where she was studying SSLC in a government school. However, the victim continued to remain in touch with Girish over phone. They later planned to elope and get married. “On Tuesday night around 8.30 pm, Girish along with Kemparaju and Gangaraju came in a car and picked the girl from the village. They headed towards Bengaluru, but the vehicle developed a technical snag near Nelamangala. Girish asked his friends to bring a mechanic and as they left he allegedly tried to rape the victim. Later his friends returned with a mechanic but the vehicle could not be repaired. Hence four of them slept inside the car during the night and Girish dropped her back on Wednesday morning,” the police said.
“When her grandmother asked where she had gone, the girl did not answer. She called the girl’s mother who grilled her, after which she revealed everything. Later, they filed a complaint with the Kudur police, who secured all the four within hours and remanded them in judicial custody,” the police added. Further investigations are on.
