Chennai: Famed Telugu writer Palagummi Padmaraju’s birth centenary year was celebrated at the Telugu literary forum, Nela Nela Vennela, here on June 13. Sarojini Premchand, writer and translator of Telugu works, well-known producer K. Murari, and Padmaraju’s daughter, Palagummi Sarojini, discussed the writer’s contibution to Telugu literature and the Telugu film world as he was a notable scriptwriter and lyricist.
He used to do his own translation into English of his Telugu literary works, it was pointed out. Death formed an important aspect of his works, said his eldest daughter Sita, who has also made a documentary on the life and times of her father.
