Joint home secretary visit put off without reason

Alok was supposed to hold meetings with the Telangana chief secretary

Hyderabad: The visit of the joint secretary of the Union home ministry, Alok Kumar, along with a team of officials to Hyderabad on Wednesday was put off without citing any reasons.

He was supposed to hold meetings with the Telangana chief secretary and other senior officials in the backdrop of the spat between TS and AP governments over the cash-for-vote scam following directions from the Union home minister Rajnath Singh.

Officials, who waited till evening, received a communication that the meeting was put off and the new schedule would be informed later. His meeting was viewed as a precursor to the expected meeting of Union home secretary L.C. Goyal with chief secretaries and DGPs of both the states in a day or two to sort out contentious issues.
