In what is seen as a distraction from the recent defeat at Tal Abyad, the ISIS has released images and videos of the horrible decapitation and mutilation of people they call spies from the 'enemy camp.'

In one of the four minute long videos that was released, a young man dressed in an orange jumpsuit is shown tied to a stake, to whom an Islamic State militant is seen approaching, holding a knife and later slicing off the man's right hand and left leg, later on killing him.

Later on, the ISIS also released a video showing a man being executed in the middle of a large gathering by shooting. Four other men were further executed in a different incident, all accused of spying.

The group also released images of another young man being decapitated. The images show him being held down face down on the dirt, as the executioner has his head yanked back and slits the throat of the man accused of being a member of the Jaysh al-Islam outfit.

The videos and the images released film, are similar to the previous videos and images released by the ISIS. The execution footage begins in a similar fashion with a masked man reading out the crimes of those in custody, followed by the pronouncement of punishment. This was followed by the graphic execution.

Syrian Kurdish fighters had only recently taken control of the Islamic State held town of Tal Abyad, cutting off a major supply route for the jihadist group. The Kurdish fighters have been narrowing into ISIS territory on either side of Raqqa since the jihadists were forced out of Kobane.
