Rain warning extended in both the states
Hyderabad: Active in both the states, the southwest monsoon is yet to cover Srikakulam district. IMD officials, however, maintained “The conditions are favourable for the further advance of southwest monsoon into the remaining parts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh in next three days.”
Meanwhile, the “heavy rainfall warning” has been extended by 48 more hours for isolated places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
As per IMD sources, heavy rains would lash isolated places in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna and Guntur of Coastal Andhra Pradesh as well as isolated places in Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar Warangal and Khammam of Telangana.
On Tuesday, Kurupam mandal of Vizianagaram district recorded the maximum rainfall of 10 cm in Andhra Pradesh followed by Avanigada in Krishna district which recorded a rainfall of 7 cm.
Bhimadole of West Godavari district recorded 5 cm. Light rainfall was recorded in the Rayalaseema region. Anantapur recorded the maximum rainfall of 3 cm in Rayalaseema.
In Telangana, moderate to heavy rainfall was observed in isolated places. Govindaraopet and Bhupalpalle in Warangal recorded 9 cm, Atmakur recorded 8 cm, Suryapet mandal in Nalgonda recorded 7 cm, Nallabelly and Eturnagaram in Warangal got 7 cm.
