English and Foreign Languages University Ph.D student evicted from hostel

Hyderabad: The English and Foreign Languages University research scholar, whose hostel room was locked by the university officials on Monday evening, was forcefully evicted from the hostel on Tuesday.

Satish Nainala, the research scholar, said that the university had put a lock on his room’s door when he had stepped out on Monday evening. Mr Nainala had himself also put a lock on the door before stepping out.

On Tuesday morning, the university officials along with security personnel went to Mr Nainala’s room in the Basheer men’s hostel and broke open his lock, before emptying his room. they placed all his belongings in a store room.

Mr Nainala alleged that he did not receive any written order from the university about vacating his room and that the university authorities were going against the interim order.

“When I tried to reason with them, the university officials said that I am misinterpreting the court order. I had to stay out on Monday night and now I have no place to stay and no scope for academic progress.”
