Police has asked the public to verify identities if anyone approaches with false promises

Hyderabad: Incidents of fake IAS and IPS officers cheating the public and VIPs have been increasing in both AP and TS. Persons claiming to be civil service officials are cheating people and even public representatives by promising them government jobs and grants under various schemes and are collecting huge amounts of money.
The police has asked the public to verify identities if anyone approaches with false promises. The public should realise that government appointments and the sanction of grants cannot be done by individuals.
Ms Swati Lakra, the additional commissioner of police for SIT & crimes said, “Society has high respect for the civil services. The fraudsters cannot play with the people for long.”
