Filmmaker-actor Pandiarajan seems to be on an experiment mode. The actor in him has been longing for offbeat roles, and he recently revealed that he plays a negative character in Saalaiyoram. In another release, Aaivukoodam, he plays a quirky scientist.
The film has newcomers Ganapathy and Sathyashree in the lead, while Film Institute student Anbarasan wields the megaphone for directing, and the scribe’s pen for screenplay and dialogues. “Aaivukoodam (Science Lab) is a laugh riot and Pandiarajan plays scientist Martin Leo, who is fanatical about his unusual experiments.
Martin has the idea to transplant the brains of intelligent people when they grow old to youngsters so that society can continue to benefit from their wisdom. But when the government denies permission, eccentric person that he is, Martin deals with the situation in his own way, and drives the plot forward,” says the director.
