He has been granted 118 days of parole in his five-year sentence

Mumbai: Sanjay Dutt is serving a jail term for his involvement in the 1993 Mumbai blast has applied for parole yet again. The actor who needs to serve the remaining 42 months of his five-year sentence has already been granted 118 days of parole or furlough in the past.

The actor who is serving his time at Pune’s Yerwada Jail has applied for 30-day parole plea before divisional commissioner Vikas Deshmukh in Pune.

There have been arguments and protests by social organizations for granting back-to-back parole to Bollywood actor. The senior officials from the office of divisional commissioner have confirmed the news that they have received Sanjay’s parole application and it was being processed.

The actor was on parole six months ago in December 2014 as he wanted to bring in the New Year with his family. After his parole eneded, he sought for a furlough but it was eventually denied by prison authorities.

According to reports, the latest parole plea will only be granted if the reasons stated are considered to be genuine and requisite clearances are made available from Mumbai Police.
