Where CM Siddaramaiah goes, BBMP cleans up ahead of him!

On his fifth inspection of the city, the CM must have been stunned to seen clean roads

Bengaluru: It could be the BBMP polls or deteriorating city infrastructure, but finally, Bengaluru city is receiving its due share of attention from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah two years after he assumed power.

Residents of Shanthinagar and Shivajinagar constituencies which he visited on Monday had a big smile on their faces after the ‘invasion’ of their localities by BBMP workers in the past three days. Result: Nearly 100 truckloads of garbage and construction debris were hastily removed from the slums giving them a spick-and-span look.

On his fifth inspection of the city, Mr Siddaramaiah must have been stunned to seen clean roads with no trace of garbage and wondered where it all had disappeared. There were complaints galore-some about overflowing sewage, others about lack of drinking water. With a crowd of Congress leaders including local MLAs Roshan Baig and N.A.

Haris going overboard to make sure nothing went amiss during the visit, the CM could only smile and dole out promises before hopping to the next destination. Party workers in their enthusiasm to greet him made sure he was bombarded with more garlands and less complaints!

How long will we have to endure such haphazard repair work for the sake of the CM’s visit?
