THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: State police chief T P Sen Kumar has set up a seven-member Internal Vigilance Cell, headed by ADGP (crimes) S Ananthakrishnan, to strengthen efforts to curb corruption within the police force.
The other members of the cell are IG S Suresh (Kerala Police Academy), DIG (intelligence) P Vijayan, SP (internal security) J Jayanand (special branch CID), SP N Ramachandran (economic offences wing II Kottayam) DySP Mohanachandran Nair MP (special branch CID Malappuram) and ACP Reji Jacob (district SB (Thiruvananthapuram city).

The cell should not give out prior information on the inspection. The cell’s responsibility is restricted to issues of corruption.
The cell should inform the unit head concerned details after the inspection is over. The cell also should send the original report to the police chief or ADGP (HQ).
Mr Sen Kumar directed all police officials to extend all necessary assistance to members of the cell to carry out the inspection.
Mr Kumar’s latest offensive is aimed at reviving and fortifying the internal vigilance mechanism that was almost defunct.
