Collector directs the offcials to participate in the event

Nellore: In a bid to make International Yoga Day a big success, the district administ-ration has sent a circular to the heads of all the government departments to bring at least 10 staff members each for the mega event.
The circular was issued by district collector M. Janaki through Ayush (Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy) department directing the officials to participate in the event scheduled between 6 am to 8 am at A.C. Subba Reddy Stadium here on June 21.

More than 20 odd yoga asanas and five types of pranayamas have been selected for the event. Since minimum exposure is required to perform the asan-as for beginners such as school students at the mega event, yoga teachers have been organising training classes in schools from last five weeks. For the benefit of others interested in participating yoga classes are being conducted from June 18 to 20 at A.C. Subba Reddy Stadium.
Yoga associations, BJP and RSS members are gearing up to organise rallies in Kavali, Gudur, Podalakur, Buchireddypalem and Sangam on June 20 to highlight the event. On the same day, (June 21) RSS activists are launching ‘Stop Diabetes Movement’ (SDM), a community effort to prevent India from becoming the world capital of diabetes mellitus, using the Integrated Approach of Yoga Therapy, under Arogya Bharathi title.
Noted physiotherapist N.Venugopal Reddy of Jayabharat Hospital said that Bangalore based Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana (VYASA) is offering its nation-wide ‘Stop Diabetes’ movement in association with Arogya Bharati in the form of Madhumeha Mukta Bharat-Yoga Sapthaha (Yoga Week) from June 21 to 27.
