Revanth Reddy sent to remand till June 29
Hyderabad: The judicial remand of Telugu Desam legislator A. Revanth Reddy was on Monday extended by 14 days to June 29 in the cash-for-vote scam.
Revanth Reddy, and the two other accused in the case, Bishop Harry Sebastian and Uday Simha, were produced in the ACB special court on Monday.
The ACB told the court that its investigations into the case were yet to be completed and the AP Forensic Science Laboratory is yet to submit its report.
ACB officials in the memo filed in the special court on Monday said the case was still under investigation.
“Accused 4, identified as Jerusalem Mattaiah, is absconding and he is yet to be arrested. The investigation is still in the initial stages and statements of a large number of witnesses including the defacto complainant (nominated MLA) Elvis Stephenson are to be recorded under 164 CrPC to establish the offence,” said ACB deputy superintendent J. Ashok Kumar in the memo.
“The accused are highly influential and they may indulge in intimidation of witnesses and also may screen the evidence. The case is still under investigation for collection of other evidence and also to probe the conspiracy of other accused who are involved,” the ACB told the court.
The ACB memo said: “The source of bribe money of Rs 50 lakh offered by the accused in the complaint has to be established. The source of the promised amount of Rs 4.5 crore has to be established. After the receipt of report of FSL after the due analysis of material objects investigation is to be conducted.”
