All attackers were not quizzed, say relatives

Hyderabad: A 19-year-old boy who suffered serious injuries in an attack by three persons on May 25 in Old Bowenpally succumbed on June 1. The parents of the boy suspect foul play by the police as all the attackers were not brought for interrogation. They said that some of them were helped by the police to escape.

Fayaz, 19, a resident of Bowenpally and an electrician, suffered serious injuries when he was attacked by Kalyan, Krishna and Bhaskar near Bhagyashree Gardens in Old Bowenpally. The attackers hit him with a wooden plank and injured him seriously.

During investigation the attackers admitted that they had beat him up as they suspected that he had stolen a battery from a van. But the victim’s family alleged that the three had previous enmity with him and had attacked him because of that.

“My son is the owner of my shop. He has no need to do such things. The killers held a grudge against my son due to an argument at MNR gardens on the previous day,” said Md Rizwan, the victim’s farther. Police registered a case against the attackers and sent them to judicial remand.

Fayaz succumbed on June 1 while undergoing treatment and the case was altered to Section 302. But his family says that all the attackers were not interrogated and the police is helping some of them to escape.

The police is investigating the allegations made by the victim’s family against the cops. “They alleged that an officer is helping the accused. So, the case was transferred from him and now I am investigating it under the supervision of superiors,” said CI K. Kiran.

The magistrate would record the statement of the victim’s family. “Since the magistrate is on leave the recording got delayed,” said the circle inspector. Kiran. Based on the magistrate's report and the postmortem report we would take action," added Kiran.
