AP power staff to meet Guv, TS moves court on transfers
Hyderabad: AP employees in Telangana power utilities will call on Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan on Monday . to complain against the alleged “unilateral decision” to transfer them without notice to AP electricity bodies.
“They have just thrown us on the streets. For a full year, they never attended any meeting convened by us. All of a sudden they have transferred us. This is unjust,” said Anuradha, convener of the APJAC.
The High Court has suspended the relieving orders and any further action on the matter by both the states, The Telangana power utilities have decided to file an appeal against the High Court order on Monday.
Telangana power staff reject the AP employees’ contention. “The issue started when a committee of the AP power utilities prepared guidelines on the lines of Kamalnathan committee recommendations, which was not acceptable to us. This is because Kamalnathan panel has no jurisdiction over public sector undertakings,” said Mr Kancherla Raghu, convener of TEEJAC. He said the TS power utilities had urged the AP bodies to form a similar committee as they had done to resolve the issue.
“They refused. They insisted on the earlier panel guidelines,” he said. “After a long wait, our management issued our own set of guidelines, which are in tune with the AP Bifurcation Act." Meanwhile, SMSes put out allegedly by some TS staffers has added fuel to the issue.
The messages read: “Dear Telangana Engineer, Let us work with the same additional charge arrangements by not allowing Andhra employees to work. The same will be apprised by TSPEA to the managements of TS Power utilities.” In several places, TS staff have reportedly occupied the seats of AP staffers. The TEEJAC denied it had sent the SMS.
