Won’t endorse consumer goods: Anupam Kher

At a time when a huge controversy has erupted over celebrity endorsements, Anupam Kher is one popular actor who has never endorsed any consumer goods in his entire career of 44 years.

“By choice, I’ve chosen not to endorse any product. I only promote social causes,” says Anupam.

Ask him why, he says, “It’s not that I am against them. It’s just that I don’t need to do them either for recognition or money. God has given me enough of both. I’d rather use whatever status I have to pitch for social causes. I’ve done ads for educational purposes. I’ve just pitched in for an orphanage in Malaysia. Consumer goods don’t need me and I don’t need them.”
