Pakistan sends ‘Save the Children’ packing

Save the Children operation is banned for “violating” its mandate

Islamabad: Pakistan has banned the operations of Save the Children in the country for “violating” its mandate as the interior ministry launched action against all the organisations working on the “foreign agenda”.

Save the Children was under strict scrutiny of the country?s intelligence agencies after the killing of former Al-Qaeda chief Osama Bin Laden in 2011 by US Naval Seals. Later, the intelligence agencies were convinced the aid organisation was used as cover by the US spies hunting the Qaeda chief.
