ICC Chairman was elected TNCA president unopposed for the 14th time in a row

Chennai: N. Srinivasan tightened his stranglehold on Tamil Nadu cricket as he was elected TNCA president unopposed for the 14th time in a row at the state body’s 85th annual general meeting here on Friday. The re-election for a one-year term (2015-16) was just a formality because the former BCCI president enjoys overwhelming support in the TNCA. Srinivasan’s trusted lieutenants Kasi S.

Viswanathan and R.I. Palani will continue to hold their secretary and joint secretary posts respectively. TNCA has 181 member clubs (including 31 district associations) with voting rights. All the 11 sitting office bearers also have a vote each, according to the TNCA constitution. For the 2015-16 term, all the office bearers were elected unopposed. The last time TNCA elections witnessed a contest was in 2012 when the joint secretary post had to be decided through voting.
