KTPS issued relieving orders to 468 employees including 230 engineers
Khammam: The relieving of engineers in Kothagudem Thermal Power Station on the ground of non-local criteria sent alarm bells to the employees working in the other organisations such as Singareni Collieries Company Limited in the district. Though the Genco rules would not apply for SCCL as it has no units in Andhra Pradesh, the employees of AP origin are worried over the tough stand taken by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao in sending AP employees to their home state. As per the details, the KTPS issued relieving orders to 468 employees including 230 engineers, who belonged to AP. These engineers were asked to report to APGenco.
Three superintending engineers, 27 deputy executive engineers, 57 assistant deputy engineers and 25 assistant engineers were among those who were transferred.
They were relieved on the basis of Kamalanathan Committee recommendations. KTPS engineers, whose have birth certificates from Andhra Pradesh, were shocked after the Telangana government issued relieving orders.
P. Prasad, an engineer said, “They were in piquant situation after receiving relieving orders. Though court stayed the order, they have to go to AP at any time. However, there were no such massive vacancies there.” He said that it was a big burden to APGenco and it is very hard to accommodate them. He added that they will continue their fight in court and also approach AP government.
On the other hand, this development in KTPS sent alarm bells to the employees from AP in SCCL.
