Telangana misusing power, alleges Chandrababu Naidu in his letter to Modi
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in his letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleged that since the law and order machinery of Hyderabad was under the control of the Government of Telangana, notwithstanding the provisions of Section 8 of the AP Reorganisation Act, the Telangana Chief Minister had been relentlessly targeting top AP government officers and ministers, including the Chief Minister, by indulging in phone tapping in contravention of the relevant provisions of law and extant guidelines.

Mr Naidu said that the home minister of Telangana had admitted in media that the government of Telangana was in possession of the records of phone conversations of government functionaries of Andhra Pradesh. He added that it was learnt that the government of Telangana had outsourced the job of illegal phone tapping to private investigating agencies, who had acquired these phone tapping equipment illegally.
The AP Chief Minister requested the Prime Minister to order a high-level inquiry into the phone tapping issue by the Telangana government for all cases in general and that of government officers, politicians and their family members in particular in violation of existing rules, regulations and procedures.
However, the Telangana Police denied the allegations of Mr Naidu on the issue of phone tapping and said that the government had not procured any foreign equipment that was not available in India.
They said that foreign equipment had been used by National Security Guards only at the time of the Mumbai terrorist attack incident. Mr Naidu said the telephone of Bishop Harry Sebastian was kept under interception from May 24 to May 31.
