CM K Chandrasekhar Rao credits officials for 24x7 electricity

Mr Rao said his officials are responsible for the success

Hyderabad: The improved power situation in Telangana overshadowed the launch of Telangana Industrial Policy, with industrialists praising Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for achieving what was considered impossible.

Addressing the delegates, Nasscom national president and Cyient chairman B.V.R. Mohan Reddy said he was astonished by improved power supply situation in the state.

“We had one major concern last year when the state was divided. And it was power shortage. But in the one year, you have improved so much that for the first time in the last 15 years, we had to generated the least amount of power from generators,” he said.

GMR Group chairman was equally profuse in his praise for the CM. “In just one year, you have made supplying 24x7 power possible. In the next few years, Telangana can even surpass Gujarat.”

Apollo Hospitals executive director Sangita Reddy said that the CM had assured her of resolving the power problem, and he has done it.

Mr Rao said his officials are responsible for the success. “The man who solved the power shortage is not me. TSGenco MD D. Prabhakar Rao and all employees of state-run power producer have turned around the power situation. The credit for such a wonderful industrial policy should go to chief secretary Rajeev Sharma and the then industry secretary Pradeep Chandra,” he said.
