Hyderabad: The cash-for-vote scam has had a huge impact on the Secretariat in Hyderabad. Ministers, IAS officials and HoDs of various departments are scared to talk to visitors or journalists fearing “sting operations” as a sense of mistrust is prevailing in the Secretariat following the Revanth Reddy episode.
The trend is being witnessed in the Secretariats of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Most ministers and officials have stopped speaking on phones and are asking callers to meet them personally instead. When required, they are mostly using the phones of their aides or staff, which, mostly, are being kept switched off.
Employees in the chambers of ministers and officials are suspecting visitors of carrying spycams and examining their pens, mobiles and gadgets.
