THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Dr. Shashi Tharoor, MP, has hailed the cabinet decision to approve Vizhinjam International Seaport Ltd. Board’s recommendation to award the Vizhinjam port development contract to Adani Ports, terming it a message for a development first approach in politics.
Dr Tharoor congratulated Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and the Government for showing the political courage to award the contract despite baseless and opportunistic criticism from opposition parties.
“This is a gold-letter day for the people of Thiruvananthapuram who have waited for 25 long years”, Dr Tharoor observed.
“It's high time that all the political parties in Kerala understand the changing mindset of the people who put development first before all other considerations”, he said.
