Ministers, government officials plan gadget ban inside Secretariat
Hyderabad: Ministers and officials are planning to impose an “unofficial ban” on carrying any gadgets into their chambers. The security personnel and staff in chambers of high-profile ministers K.T. Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao are taking extra precautions while allowing visitors inside their chambers.
They fear that these two ministers are more prone to sting operations than others considering that Mr Rama Rao is the son of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Mr Harish Rao his nephew. Both play crucial roles in the TRS and in government affairs.
These two chambers in the D Block in the Secretariat attract a large number of visitors. At any given day, over 2,000 visitors from various districts throng these chambers. But after the cash-for-vote episode, restrictions were imposed on the movement of visitors and only few are getting the opportunity to meet the ministers and speak directly to them. The rest are being asked to submit their petitions to the staff.
Earlier, ministers and officials used to converse freely with visitors close to them or with journalists and engage in long conversations. But these days, the ministers are trying to be very brief.
