Sources said that Mr Narasimhan told the Prime Minister whatever he knew about the case, including the material evidence supplied to him by Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
The Governor briefed Mr Modi that Mr Rao had met him a few days ago and had sought permission to proceed against AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in the case.

However, he had not accorded permission and was waiting for the Anti-Corruption Bureau’s submission in court on the issue. Referring to reports that the Andhra Chief Minister had sought his replacement as Governor for favouring the Telangana government during the last year, Mr Narasimhan apparently told the PM that he had only acted as per Constitutional provisions.
