1,103 AP staff relieved by Telangana

Telangana Power Corporations have given orders to as many as 1,103 staff working to leave
Hyderabad: In a move that would further aggravate the raging controversy, the Telangana Power Corporations have given orders to as many as 1,103 staff working here to leave the state immediately and go to Andhra Pradesh as they are ‘native Andhras.’
An order (No: 92) was issued to this effect by D. Prabhakara Rao, CMD of TSGENCO and TRANSCO. This move followed after the High Court postponed the case to Friday on the guidelines issued by the Telangana power utilities a couple of days back which stated that all native Andhra cadre employees will be sent to AP power utilities. The guidelines were objected to by employees who hailed from AP saying that the TS government has no right to transfer them and they filed a case against the guidelines. According to APJAC, the advocates who argued for Telangana sought one more day and the court had advised them orally not to take any step until it gives its ruling.
“But the Telangana government acted in a hasty manner and gave orders to the Andhra staff, which against the spirit of Court’s view, AP JAC crticised. The employees who were issued relieving orders were 303 from TSSPDCL, 82 from TNPDCL, 255 from TS Transco and 520 from TS GENCO.
“Strangely, the staff from TSSPDCL and TNPDCL were asked to report to APSPDCL and APEPDCL. All these utilities were no role to play in the transfers issue and above all, Telangana government has no moral right to do so” Anuradha, convener of APJAC said.
