Varun Dhawan is under strict instructions to not divulge any details about his role in the film

Mumbai: Karan Johar, who has finalised Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan as part of the cast for his magnum opus Shuddhi, has asked the two to not divulge any information about their respective roles. Dharma Productions has apparently re-worked the budget and script of the film to suit the actors’ ages. Said a source, “Already enough has been written about the film, so the makers don’t want to let out any more information than what is out there.”
Recently, during the promotions of his upcoming film ABCD2, Varun refused to address any question regarding Shuddhi. He only stated that it was unfair to say that he has “replaced” Salman Khan in the film. “Salman is too big and I have a lot to achieve before I can make such claims. All I can say is that Shuddhi is a very special film,” he said.
Dharma has two big films — Brothers and Kapoor & Sons that are currently on the floors. Two more of their films — Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Shuddhi — will commence as soon as things fall into place. With all of the delays and false starts that Shuddhi has already been through, it is understandable that the producers want it to be finished before anything else is said about it.
