Watch: Venezuelan presenters strip naked to support national team in the Copa America
Mumbai/Caracas: Stripping for a cause has become the new trend today. In India, it is not new with model-turned-actor Poonam Pandey occasionally declaring that she would bare it all, claiming it to be for a social cause, but at times turns out to be a publicity gimmick for the struggling actor.
But now, according to a report in the ‘Daily Mail’, an all-female news team in Venezuela have come together to show support for the national football team in this year’s high voltage Copa America tournament by stripping naked.

Eight vivacious presenters from - Desnudando la Noticia, the news website which translates as ‘Stripping the News’, have decided to bare all to encourage their nation’s football stars and even asking other women to join them.

What’s noticing here is the fact that the team, largely consisting of models and beauty contestants, claim their presenting style is aimed at ‘empowering women’ and getting rid of the taboo around nudity.

One of them includes Yuvi Pallares, who had earlier grabbed eyeballs after stripping her clothes off on screen while reporting on a sex scandal involving Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
The nude content will increase in sync according to the progress of the Venezuelan team in the South American tournament, according to a message on their webpage.

Venezuela are pitted as underdogs this year despite finishing fourth last time. This time though the road to victory won’t be an easy one especially when they have to battle in out in a group which includes Brazil, Columbia and Peru.
The Copa America will kick off with hosts Chile up against Ecuador on Thursday at 8.30 pm local time. Venezuela will play their first game against Columbia on Sunday.
Defending champions Uruguay may face a daunting task this year with star striker Luis Suarez still serving an international football ban for biting during the World Cup.

Desnudando la Noticia is a subscription 'news' website, which claims to be fighting for female liberation by encouraging its presenters to strip off in the middle of their reports.
Varied topics from sports to technology, the hot presenters read the news from a studio in revealing dresses, before taking them off midway through speaking.

There’s a disclaimer though on their Facebook page, where they describe their audience as 'adolescent and adult males', adding that each day their presenters upload a 10-20 minute segment to their website.
