Forecast for all matches between Bangladesh and India not encouraging
Mumbai: Not only the ongoing Test match against Bangladesh in Fatullah's Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium but India’s three ODIs' to be played thereafter in Dhaka on June 18, 21 and 24 are also likely to be affected due to rain, according to Mohammad Shahalam, the director at the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.

Speaking exclusively from Dhaka on Wednesday, he said, "The four-month rainy season in Bangladesh starts from June 10. The first few days here are 'weak’ monsoon days (the rain fall on these days is up to 40 mm in 24 hours) but it becomes moderate monsoon (40 to 80 mm in 24 hours) and then gradually heavy rain season (above 80 mm rain in 24 hours) starts in this country."
"The forecast for the remaining days of this Test match does not rule out rain," he added. (Photo: AP)
Fatullah is located about 7-8 km South / East of this meteorological office in Bangladesh.
Interestingly, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) didn't bother to check with the Meteorological Department about the arrival of monsoon in this season, he confirmed.
"All people of this nation are aware that we have rain during this time in our country. It is their headache why they hosted the matches in this period," the director, also a cricket-fan, signed off.
No Test match is ever played in Bangladesh in June.
