Revanth Reddy gets to attend daughter’s engagement

Bail was granted with a personal bond and two sureties of Rs 50,000 each

Hyderabad: TD MLA A. Revanth Reddy has been granted a 12-hour interim bail to attend the engagement of his daughter at N Convention Centre in the city. Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths in plain clothes will keep an eye on the MLA to ensure that he doesn’t violate the conditions of the bail.

On Wednesday, ACB special court judge G. Laxmipathi, while dismissing the regular bail applications filed by Mr Revanth Reddy and two other accused, granted conditional interim bail from 6 am to 6 pm on Thursday.

Special prosecutor in the case V. Surender Rao said, “The Court has directed the accused Revanth Reddy to not take part in any political activity during the interim bail period. It has also directed him not to meet or influence the witnesses or tamper with evidence.”

He was asked not to talk to the media on the case. Bail was granted with a personal bond and two sureties of Rs 50,000 each.

Mr Revanth Reddy’s daughter Nymisha Reddy is getting engaged to Satyanarayan Reddy, son of G. Venkat Reddy, owner of Reddy and Reddy Motors in Bhimavaram, on Thursday.

Senior SC advocate Siddharth Luthra appeared on behalf of Mr Revanth Reddy in the court. During the bail arguments, defence advocates raised several questions regarding the investigation. They argued that Mr Revanth Reddy didn’t carry money along with him even when he entered the room. They alleged that though the complaint was filed on May 28 the FIR was issued on May 31. They alleged that searches were conducted on June 9 only to harass Mr Revanth Reddy.
