Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah in Delhi, pushes for Smart City project
Bengaluru: The state government would continue to receive funds from the Union government for projects initiated under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) if they had crossed the half-way mark in terms of completion, Union urban development minister M Venkaiah Naidu said on Wednesday.
He told the media after Chief Minister Siddaramaiah called on him in New Delhi that schemes sanctioned during 2005-12 and reported progress of more than 50 per cent would continue to get financial support from the Union government.
Schemes sanctioned during 2012-14 that received the first installment of funds would be supported till 2017, while the rest ought to be submitted afresh under the new Atal Mission for Rejuvenation & Urban Transformation (AMRUT). States would be given the liberty of prioritizing and sanctioning them.
