Kangana Ranaut ruled hearts at the box office with ‘Queen’ last year and bowled us again with her brilliant double role performance in ‘Tanu weds Manu Returns’. The actress who has paved her niche in the entertainment industry is gearing up for ‘Katti Batti’ with Imran Khan. With the buzz around the film, we have been waiting on the edge of our seat to see this romantic story unfold on the screen. Here's all the news the film has made ever since director Nikhil Advani announced the project.
New pair on the block
Every year, we are presented with a new bunch of on-screen couples to gossip about. While we get a comforting sense of familiarity when we see SRK-Kajol or Ranbir-Katrina romancing each other onscreen, we crave something new..and ‘Katti Batti’ promises us exactly the same thing.
The film is touted to be a unique love story about new age relationships, breaking up and making up in today's world, the sort of contemporary romantic relationship that will see Imran Khan and Kangana Ranaut together for the first time.
While the first look of the film depicted a bespectacled Imran Khan and a quirky Kanagana, this new picture unveiled by UTV motion pictures shows Kangana in a colour, fresh attire. The 'Queen' actress can be seen painting a canvas and showcasing her artsy side.
The film is slated for a release later this year on September 18, 2015. Nikhil Advani, famous for directing 'Kal Ho Na Ho' has put together the story of Maddy Sharma played by Imran Khan and Payal played by Kangana. From the looks of it, it would be interesting to see how the chemistry between the two unfolds.
Behind the camera
She stepped on the other side of camera and directed first seven minutes. Kangana took cinematographer Tushar Kantiray’s blessings and offered him Re 1 to allow her to use the camera. It is a scene where she is shooting Imran Khan playing with a gadget and in order to make it look authentic, Director Nikhil Advani asked her to shoot it.
Though Kangana mentioned that the whole process was ‘nerve-racking’, director said she shot the scene like a pro, ‘adding one more talent in the already overflowing basket’.
Going bald
Kangana Ranaut will be shown as suffering from a terminal illness in the film and will use prosthetic aids to achieve the bald look. The official trailer launch of the film will be on Sunday and in the presence of Kangana and Imran.
